examples of what we do:
- reduction
or removal of acoustic spill-over between tracks in a
multi-track recording: suppose you have a live multi-track recording,
and the voice is too weak, because too much instrumental sound
has entered the vocal mike. By reducing the spill-over, the voice
can be boosted more effectively to create a good-sounding mix.
This cannot be done with conventional filtering techniques. CSP
has it's own new methods.
- removing
or changing a wrong note in a chord: suppose
your keyboardist struck a chord with a wrong note. We can often
take out the note or even change it.
- changing
the pan position of an instrument or voice in the mix, stereoizing
a mono recording.
- extracting
a vocal phrase for use in a re-mix:
this is quite difficult, but can be done with very dedicated processing
(read more here.)
- removing
a background noise
- re-mastering
an older recording, correcting some mistakes, and improving the
overall sound.
- fixing
a problem that was considered unfixable before: we look
at the problem from our perspective and can often fix it, or achieve
an improvement at least.
For
want of a better term, we like to call our speciality 'sound
surgery': dedicated 'surgical' modifications and corrections,
to fix an annoying problem, that otherwise would ruin a perfectly
good track. And, just like real surgery, a proper diagnosis beforehand
is essential. That's why we need you to describe your problem carefully!
Our
'surgical instruments' are mostly by our own design, allowing us
to perform unique operations.
